Proposals
IDRA invites you to contribute to the 2025 IDRA Reykjavik Summit on Water and Climate Change, held October 12–14, 2025, at the iconic Harpa Opera House in Reykjavik, Iceland. Known for its stunning natural landscapes and strong commitment to environmental sustainability, Iceland provides a compelling backdrop for this global event.
Held in collaboration with the Arctic Circle Assembly 2025, the summit will tackle one of the most urgent challenges of our time: adapting to climate change while leveraging opportunities for convergence between mitigation and adaptation to secure sustainability.

Interest
We welcome proposals from global leaders, experts, and organizations for thematic sessions focusing on water and climate change adaptation. Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:
Scaling Water Reuse:
Pathways to Increasing Global Adoption from 8% to 80%.
Water Stewardship & Collective Action:
Strengthening collaboration between public, private, and nonprofit sectors to drive impactful water solutions in high-risk river basins.
Decarbonizing the Water Sector:
Advancing strategies to reduce carbon footprints and enhance energy efficiency in water treatment, distribution, and reuse.
Unconventional Water Resources & Integrated Water Resource Management:
Leveraging desalination, water reuse, and alternative sources to ensure long-term security and resilience.

Developing strategies to manage water resources effectively amidst intensifying floods, droughts, and rising temperatures.
Submission
Details
Proposal submissions will be accepted from January 20 to March 31, 2025. A panel of industry experts will peer-review all proposals to ensure alignment with the summit’s key themes. Your proposal must include:
- Session Title: A concise, engaging title.
- Summary: A brief 1–2 paragraph description of the session.
- Session Format: Specify the format (e.g., panel discussion, workshop, case study). * Note: Commercial presentations will not be accepted.
- Speakers and Panelists: Names, short bios of all participants, including moderator, and panellists (maximum 5), high-resolution headshot photos.
- Session Duration: Sessions are limited to one hour.

Acceptance Notification & Participation Agreement: Upon selection
Participation Agreement: to be signed on notification of acceptance
Paid Registration: required by Monday, June 2, 2025
